Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

• Day : 1 Colombo - Kandy (Approx. 4.5 Hrs):

   

   

  On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you shall be received by Thomas Cook India’s Srilankan representative.

   

  Thereafter you shall proceed towards the Cultural Capital & one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site of Srilanka – Kandy. Enroute you have an option to visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (if time permits. Entrance fees to be paid directly)

   

  The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lanka's most popular tourist attractions. The orphanage's population has now mushroomed to around 65, making it the world’s largest collection of captive elephants. The elephants here range in age from newborns to elderly matriarchs, and include orphaned and abandoned elephants, as well as those injured in the wild.

   

  Later proceed to Kandy. On arrival check into the hotel and early evening you may witness the Local Srilankan Dance form – The Kandyan Dance followed by visit to Gem factory.

   

  Overnight stay at a hotel in Kandy

• Day : 2 Kandy:

   

  Today post breakfast in the hotel, you may proceed to enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka's last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the Temple of the tooth, Royal Botanical Gardens, the Peradeniya University campus and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper lake Drive. ( Entrance fees to be paid directly – wherever applicable)

   

  Second half of the day is free for you to enjoy shopping. Kandy is famous for its gems and jewellery, authentic Srilankan handicrafts, batiks, silks etc.

• Day : 3 Kandy – Colombo (Approx 4.5 Hrs):

  
   

  After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for Colombo. Enjoy a drive past city tour. Evening free at leisure to enjoy shopping/ nightlife in Colombo.

• Day : 4 Departure:

   

  Have breakfast at Hotel and later depart for the airport for departure. End of Tour & Services
